Service Update:
The Autumn School Term starts 4 Sept 2024
The autumn school term starts on Wed 4th Sept 2024 so the C1 and C3 Chatterbus timetables are adjusted to allow the Cobham Free School private bus service to operate in the morning and afternoon. Please refer to the timetables for details.
For more details of the chargeable school bus service operated on behalf of the Cobham Free School, please email us at info@chatterbus.org.uk.
The Chatterbus Trackers have been updated
We are pleased to announce we are testing new trackers for all our buses from today (Mon 2 Sept 2024).
The new trackers provide updates every 15 seconds or less, whereas the old trackers could wait 2 or 3 minutes before they sent out an update. The trackers are also able to report the road name of the current location.
This should provide our passengers with much better information as to where their bus is and if it has been delayed by roadworks or traffic congestion.
Byfleet Road Roadworks Causing delays – from 14 May 2024
There are roadworks on the Byfleet Road between Painshill roundabout above the A3 and Silvermere. The C1 service to and from Brooklands/Weybridge is being delayed and may have to reroute. This is expected to continue for sometime.
This is likely to continue for some time.

Your community-run bus service for the Cobham area
Chatterbus provides a reliable, friendly service that’s there when it’s needed. It is a unique not-for-profit service, managed by local people for the local community and is operated by the East Surrey Rural Transport Partnership under contract to Chatterbus CIO (charity no. 1173907).
Chatterbus C1, C2 & C3 routes
The Chatterbus East-West service between Cobham and Weybridge (plus Fetcham and Leatherhead on Saturdays) plugs a significant gap in the local transport system and complements other local bus services.
Our Local Sponsors
Chatterbus could not run without the help of our four Principle Sponsors – Elmbridge Borough Council, Surrey County Council, Chelsea FC Foundation, Walton Charity and PA Housing. We are also very grateful to our fantastic Sponsors Co-op, Levanter Developments, Grosvenor Billinghurst, NFU Mutual, Specsavers, South West Railway and Waitrose.
And we owe a great debt to all the local organisations and bodies whose donations help us to run this important service – Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust, Cobham and Downside Residents Association, Cobham Chamber of Commerce, Cobham Garden Club, St Andrew’s Church – Cobham, St Mary’s Church – Stoke D’Abernon, Stoke D’Abernon Residents Association.
