Chatterbus Fares

There is a full choice of payment methods when you buy your Chatterbus ticket. Please pay the driver – you can use your contactless debit or credit card, make a mobile payment with Google Pay or Apple Pay, or just use cash.

Adults
£2.00 each journey within a zone
£2.50 each journey across more than one zone
Children
£1.00 each journey within a zone
£1.25 each journey across more than one zone – for children under the age of 16 (except schools service).
Two children of below 5 years of age can be carried without charge if they accompany an adult paying full fare.
Schools Service
50p per one-way journey, children under 16 (for Buses arriving at St Andrew’s or St Matthew’s before 09.00, and picking up from the schools before 17.00).
Concessions
FREE for all holders of English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes, for the elderly after 09.30 Monday to Fridays and all day Saturday. Disabled Pass holders free at all times.
Disabled Pass holders with a C+ Pass may also take a companion free at any time.
We are also able to offer free travel on the Chatterbus to those in financial need. Click here for more details.
Weekly Season Ticket
£12.00 for a one-week adult season ticket with unlimited usage within a zone.
£3.00 for a one-week children’s season ticket with unlimited usage within a zone (children under 16).
NB Season tickets are available for purchase from the bus driver.

Free travel on the Chatterbus

We are able to offer free travel on the Chatterbus to those in financial need.

Chatterbus example card
  • Jobseeker Travel Cards are accepted for free travel.
  • National age and disability related passes are accepted for free travel.
  • Free Chatterbus passes are issued on application at Cobham Food Bank, St. Andrew’s Church Cobham, Oasis and St Mary’s Church Stoke D’Abernon.

Acorn multi-operator bus tickets

The Chatterbus is also part of the Acorn multi-operator bus ticket scheme. This scheme run by Surrey County Council offers unlimited travel for a day or week across many bus services in north Surrey. Certain exceptions apply.

  • It covers most services in the Boroughs of Elmbridge, Runnymede and Spelthorne as well as parts of Woking Borough.
  • You can change buses as much as is needed to complete your chosen journey, irrespective of which company runs a service.
  • It can also be used on some bus services to Kingston and Heathrow Airport.
  • It may be helpful and could save you money, especially for longer journeys.

Just buy your Acorn ticket for the day or week from the driver on the first bus you board.

Tickets can be purchased and used at any time and on any day of the week. Most buses on routes covered by the ticket display the Acorn logo.
